darcy-

do spill the gossip from nicola! i'm curious.

and, i don't have a good concise answer about why i chose mit. some reasons are: they seemed to care more about grad students, to offer better technical training, more friendly/open culture...

congrats on the honors project (jj), and thesis (darcy). my thesis is still umm not finished. arg. not nearly. hmph. well anyway, it's "coming." that's what i tell myself anyway.

and french canadian dude sounds cute. you should speak to him in french. that would be tres cool. n'est ce pas?

ender, do i know already what you're testing for? if not, do tell, i'm curious.
and elle how come you chose MIT over harvard? that's cool though, i like MIT better myself.
man i haven't seen/talked to anyone in a long time, though i just got an email from nicola which was exciting; i'm curious what the other half of our class is doing. if anyone wants updates ask me soon :)
elle, i plan to come home like for a week or so in june, starting the 10 or so, but probably not even a full week. you gonna be home then?? say yes!!! (everyone else, also say yes!)
i'm turning in my thesis soon hopefully (3 days), and praying to the gods that i dont fail (its majorly short, like 1/5 the length of anyone else's that i've talked to, becuase i've been kinda bummed out and just sit around moping instead of working).
hmm lets see if i can make my update not depressing.
i'm sort of seeing this french canadian dude, and he's really sweet/cute + good for and to me, though he's my 4th guy this year (counting the summer), and 2 beyond when i'd vowed to stop. but i'm also trying hard to avoid either being attached at the hip (so, at hte moment, am in denis's room 'working' on my thesis) or too cold like i was to my other guys this year. but i think he's the first guy to really like the goofy side of me and not just the listener, and he also pushes me into feeling comfortable n stuff.
oh right, my name, yeah you may recall guy called me Knightly since probably start of senior year (i guess it started when we read Emma, he liked the name and enjoyed hollering "knightly" on the intercom). so then more recently both me and guy dragged/were dragged by our significant others to Pride and Prejudice and for a day or two I attempted to call him Darcy, so Knightly would not be lonely. It didnt really stick, but ... that was a really long winded explanation :) but then, did you expect any less?
ah for those who dont know, i thought i'd mention that guy decided on berkley (as did my current roommate, claire) so that's definitely my grad school of choice, and i might go hang out there some of next year.
whoa i just realized, our nicknames arent babe, donkey, merry minstrel, bottomless pit, lady agent orange, tess, stephie-babie (who came up w/ that one? toby??), or any other of a bunch of names from the days.
man i love you all.
dont leave my post here for a lot of days, you know it gets lonely when you do that.
jj, you make a very cute protestor. i dig.

:-D

Congrats elle!! I had my $ on Harvard, but MIT was in a close second. :)

I wanted to share that I have achieved statistical significance at p=.017 for my honors project, and I am excessively pleased with myself. The actual writing up shouldn't be bad (Max 20 pages! Min 10), and so I am kind of basking in my own ability to get a result out of an experiment. Although there are 200 things I would have done differently if I knew then what I knew now, but that is what the learning curve is all about.

Ex-Senator Edwards is coming here on Wednesday, and since the boy got invited + guest, I don't need to stand in line to get a ticket! Which means I'll actually go (not that I'm soooo lazy).

And Bush was here on Friday and there were huge protests (over 1000 ppl -- a lot for Stanford) and we made them switch the place they were having it and wasted 15 mintues of his time! Yes! So successful at fulfilling the need for there to be a protest, yet unsuccessful at actually accomplishing anything. But still fun.

Here's a photo of me from the protest:

And that's all for now. I am soooo far behind on work from running subjects all last week.

Love,
Ender

hi guys-

just wanted to let you know that I have signed up for another 5 years of mit in the end. so you know where to find me. i'm pretty excited about it :p.

also, darcy, you are the only person (of the bloggers here) who i have not seen in the last four weeks. this is problematic. i hope you plan to be home this summer (though you said you may be at princeton.) hmm. by the way, is darcy a pride & prejudice reference? i guess i'm not sure what else it could be.

well, time to get back to my thesis. the sense of impending doom grows stronger by the hour.

it will all be over soon... right? (and then i start over again, of course, but it's best not to remind me.)
